TAAAADAAAA!

FINAL POST !

Hey There Everyone,
So, its my last post of the semester tonight! Wow, this semester flew by. From the time we thought about growing plants to now growing them and eating them, it has been all so fun and gone by so fast! We have grown tomatoes, cucumbers, pak choy, strawberries, and much much more!
We have grown tilapia and koi, we have experienced highs and lows in our growing patterns, we have done it all!
Never did our class think that we could yield plants like we did. Our sysytem is overtaking period 4's just about every day. Our plants are about to reach the ceiling! Its outragous! We are all very sad that the semester is just about over and our aquaponics class is about to come to an end, but let me show you our final products.

New Plants... BIG PLANTS!

Hey Everyone,
So...
Our plants are growing like crazy. Over the weekend, our tomatoes actually bloomed and we have three new tomatoes growing. Our plant has also grown like crazy. Its almost all the way up to the ceiling. (We are dominating period 4 with our tomatoes... but dont tell period 4 I told any of you that).

We have had no more strawberries grow but we did not expect many to grow because of how low the pH needs to be for them to grow. We planted some new plants and we have seen great growth from everything.

The semester is almost over, but we still have lots of growing for our plants to do. Keep posted!

After harvesting our pak choi, we had lots of room to grow new plants.

Our strawberry is little, but smells great!
Courtney and Krisitin showing off our huge amount of pak choi and lettuce!!!

Greg planting new seedlings.

Our tomatoes are growing too!
Before harvesting

So plentiful

We harvested plants today. We got about 3 to 4 pounds of pak choi and lettuce. We can now start planting new plants. Our strawberry is growing now as well which is quite surprising. Our pH is quite low though and we had one dead tilapia this morning which was very bad because it is really hard to kill the tilapia.

Here are some pictures of our harvest today:

Hi Everyone,
Its amazing. We started out with seedlings, and we are almost to the fruiting stage. Our tomatoes are growing like crazy, our lettuce is getting huge, and our pak choi is doing great.

Our tomato plants are getting so tall that they are starting to fall, they need to be propped up right. Soon, we will be seeing tomatoes fruiting.

Our fish are also doing well. They are growing very well and they are very happy. Our nutrient levels are right on track. After an initial scare of high nitrite levels, our system is back to a normal reading for all nutrients and it shows in our plants.

Stay posted for more exciting aquaponics news to come soon.
